"Good Things Happen in 3... Vodka, That Is"

How this booze is not the most popular stuff stocking bars nationwide I will never know, but it sure stocks my bar at all times. Perfect timing for light summer cocktails, I really couldn't wait to tell everyone about this clever, clever soy concoction. I'm even going to share with you my favorite 3 Vodka drink recipe, but feel free to taste test and then send me your own creation to post following this piece. So, the skinny:

* Serving size is a 1.5oz shot
* 96 calories in one serving
* ZERO carbs in one serving

Magazines from Cosmo and Maxim to Forbes and Entrepreneur are touting the stuff. 3 Vodka was the vodka of choice for the gift bags at the American Music Awards in 2003. Jermaine Dupri is a company partner, for crying out loud. They are the only vodka to be certified, recommended and endorsed by the American Vegetarian Association. What? Yeah, thats right. Animal lovers drink up. Words that seem to repeat themselves in reviews about 3 Vodka are smooth, smooth and smooth. Soy is an excellent source of protein as well all know, but it also has iron, calcium, zinc, vitamin E, amino acids and B-complex vitamins.

Sign me up, you say? Well, since a lot of liquor stores still seem to be missing the boat for some reason here, I suggest checking out the website which can guide you to whichever of your friendly local stores that carry it. The site, www.3vodka.com, includes recipes for some very tasty treats (both regular and no- or low-carb), and I even have my own homemade fav.

Check out Kate's Summer Breeze:

* Rocks or higball glass
* Fill with ice
* 1.5oz 3 Vodka
* Almost to the top with Fresca
* Splash of grenadine, OR, to keep with low-cal use lite cran juice
* Stir and enjoy!
